Research Description:
The main interest of the laboratory is focused on drug targets on cardiovascular diseases, new diuretics discovery, physiology and pharmacology of membrane channel proteins, and mechanism and therapy of polycystic kidney disease. The platforms for studying polycystic kidney disease, screening inhibitors of aquaporins and urea transporters and investigating physiology and pharmacology of membrane channel proteins have been established. There is good research condition for the research work on molecular biology, physiology and pharmacology. We have polycystic kidney disease mouse model, aquaporin gene knockout mouse models and urea transporter gene knockout mouse models. We collaborate with Verkman’s group (UCSF, USA), Sands’ group (Emory University, USA), Bankir’s group (Inserm, France) and Department of Pathophysiology, Jilin University on several joint projects. We would like to have collaboration with the other groups for joint projects in various research fields.
